I dont know why but the past week or so the top of the surface in my bio cube is all milky and has a icky film over it. The rest of the water is crystal clear. I have replaced the airstone in my skimmer and placed carbon pads.. I don't know why it won't clear up. Maybe the filtration system? I dunno ?? any ideas:confused:

    Hi Starfish

the white film of scum are protiens trapped at the water surface, held there by surface tension

the skimmer cant process them where they are

a paper towel placed gently on the water surface and then carefully lifted off, will remove much of it

then increase water movement on the surface and that will stop them building up there in future
