they are currently recalling some batches of number 2 and number 3. I would wait until that settles out. The number 1 and number 4 are still ok.

It seems that in a few batches, the motor wasn't sealed properly and you could potentially get a shock. The problem is, they don't know how many different batches are affected. As a result, they are having distributors ship all of them back because they need to figure out which batches are bad.

Any updates on people using these powerheads in their tanks? I just ordered two K1s for my 46 gallons. I hope this is going to be enough flow. They are going to be replacing my two MaxiJet 900s. 400GPH(Hydrolia) versus 230GPH (MaxiJet), the K1s better be enough!

I dont think thats going to be enough for a 46gal personally.
I only have a 29gal and it moves water, it just doesnt feel like it since its so dispursed. I hhave seen the K4's in action in my friends 260gal and those things can move some water. That being said, I think I will probably get 2 K2's for each back side and put the K1 in the center facing the front glass. Or maybe just stick with 2 more K1's. This recal crap is killin me.

i HAVE 2 #1 IN MY TANK AND THE FLOW IS AMAZING, I WOULDN'T GO ANY HIGHER BECAUSE I FIND RIGHT NOW MY FLOW IS JUST PERFECT. IT DEPENDS ON THE CORALS YOU KEEP AND YOUR AQUASCAPE. WITH MY AQUASCAPE AND CORALS IT'S PERFECT BUT I ALSO HAVE A MAXIJET1200 AND 200GPH FROM MY FILTER.

Cool, ya... I have read that the flow is much more dispersed for the Koralia's and not a stream of water. So, since you have two K1s in your 55 and it works great, hopefully that will be good for me. I too have a Remora with a Maxi Jet and a Penguin 200... so hopefully that is enough flow.

Although, I'm working on a sump right now and was thinking of getting rid of the Penguin 200 and moving the Aqua C down to the sump. Perhaps that will decrease my flow a lot. Oh well, we'll see. In the meantime, I'm really anxious to get the K1s!!! ;D

Well I feel your flow should depend upon your tank. Everyone's aquascape is different as well as the corals we keep so the flow you require depends on your tank. I won't name names but I used to go on another forum and they said I didn't have enough flow when I had 2 mj1200, 1 mj400, 1 ph w/176gph, plus 300 gph from my filter. This was alot of flow. My corals were unhappy, bending over, closing up, there was a vortex in my tank. My tank is only 13inches wide so there was no need for this amount of flow especially since I wasn't housing any flow demanding creatures. Needless to say my corals are really happy, the tank is looking really good. It's all about playing with the current and finding a happy medium.
