I don't know if I should be proud of this or not but yesterday I tested all my params for the first time in about 3 months. I know I know lol. The weird thing was when I tested everything ended up being at perfect levels. I mean PERFECT.
Nothing was going wrong in my tank that made me think something was off but I just tested to see what was going on.
I guess its a good thing but I was amazed at what the results showed.
I wonder if this happens to anyone else who gets lazy with testing? Maybe I'm just lucky lol

Happened to me about a month ago, i was real busy with work, found out my wife was pregnant and the only thing i hadnt done in several months was check the params. well i finally checked them and i was amazed that everything i was doing was working and my tank was happy.
    congrats on a happy tank.

i have a 16 gallon custom nano with three fish some coral and a large carpet anemone with a maroon clown, i have never tested any of my params and dont have a protein skimmer, also i just have flourescant lighting over all my hard coral and they thrive. i guess im just lucky and ive had the tank going this way for 4 years, the only fish death ive had was a jawfish that jumped out of my tank cuz the clown was bullying him.

I'm the same way, I do my biweekly water changes, have an ATO and skimmer running. My params are always spot on even if I don't test for a month or two.

I haven't tested in a couple months and everything's been doing great... I really should test. Every time I do, I tell myself I'm going to at least once a week and keep a log. never happens though... maybe next time. ;)

the only thing that fluctuates in my tank is Mg. That gets dosed every 4-6 weeks as needed.
