I finally decided to get a little tech savy & post a couple vids of 'Hollywood', my mantis shrimp on youtube. They are shot from an iphone and I am hardly an expert. Got the name Hollywood cause this is a peacock I picked up from Bob over at ibluewater & it shipped from Malibu. Yes I know two different places but Malibu as a name just dont get the same wow! lol. anyways enjoy.

Got a little brave and decided to try hand feeding for the first time. I dont know if its the angle or what but its definitely alot larger than the video makes it look.

I would say thats debatable. I have it in a 29g along with a flame angel, sixline & starry blenny. I also have some softies, zoas & LPS in the tank. The only casualty I have had is a snail shell with some xenia growing on it that is now the mantis' lair door. I did have one war coral frag that required about 3/4 a tube of super glue for me to win the fight & be left alone. The fish have even been seen swimming in one door of the lair & out the other.

Highlight of a mantis is dont add it to anything youll get heartborken over if it buries, kills, or eats.

Well, ok. I did forget about CuC. I do have to spend about $40-$50 every month & a half or two and restock the CuC.

Do I feel safe with it in the tank? yes. Am I going to drop it in the 75? no.

Mantis like any other living thing vary from one to another, while mine has been reasonably role model some have had peacocks like mine that have been total pschyopath michael meyers type mantis. So it truely is a roll of the dice.

Bob Sr, was a model peacock. I would have fish, zoas, leathers, mushrooms in there and never touched them. I would have snails and crabs in there and she still never touched them. The only time she would eat a snail was when i physically dropped it in front of her den.

Bob JR is not that nice. She has redecorated all the coral that is in there and will go after snails. Still havent risked fish with her yet but she is small, only 3-4 inches. Bob SR was at least 11 inches
