I have a 55 Gal tank with about 3 inches of live sand and guessing i around 30lbs of live rock, using a hang on filter and a seaclone hang on skimmer (no sump so glad this allows you to use both ways) so far just doing my tests and (excitingly) waiting for the tank to cycle! =)

Welcome to 3reef. How long has your tank been cycling?

Thanks, my tank has been cycling for 1 week now, my LFS was very helpful now the only thing is i wasnt trying to spend 400$ on lights... and its starting to seem that if you wanted any type of anemone to grow you need to spend atleast that much.

No you don't need to spend $400 on lights to grow whatever you want. Unless you want a quality LED fixture, buy you could do diy project for cheaper honestly.

You can keep Bubble Tip Anemones (BTA) and Condy anemones under Power Compacts.
I would not keep any other types under Power Compacts, you will need to get better lights if you want to keep more delicate anemones in the future.

The 2 anemones mentions above are the only anemones I would house in a system under 6 months as well.

If it's your desire to have clowns and anemones go with the BTA rather than the Condy.

Consider adding more rock to your tank, the more rock you have the larger the biological filter, the more stable the tank.

If this is your first adventure into SW let the tank sit and cycle. Try your hand at some soft corals and allow the tank to become established before jumping right into anemones.

corailline this is my first adventure in the saltwater world, I will be picking up some more live rock from my LFS soon, i plan on waiting 4-6 months before adding corals or anemones i just want to get the light that they would need now, so the tank will be adjusted to them including the fish and cleaners i get before then =) but as i stated i think 400$ is just a little to much for me.
