Hope it comes back. I have not found many LPS corals to appreciate iodine dips. Honestly, I think it generally does more harm than good. So, only use as a last resort. If light and flow are good and the coral still isn't responding, then a upping the water changes, almost always does the trick with them. There are potentially lots and lots of things in the water that can stress corals that we don't test for. When you frag it, the biggest worry is bacterial infection. Keeping the water quality really high, seem to be the best defense against this IME.

Hopefully the iodine didnt do much harm, I did it at regular streagth for 15min and then rinsed it off with tank water. The directions stated you could use a double dose if needed which I did not do. Also hopefully being in a mod flow area will help keep any dead issue off the coral. I will nto dip again though thank you for the warning.
I do a 5gal WC on my 46gal system once a week and dose alk in between. I do not test phosphate but nitrates are minimal.

Well after a few days the hammer seems to be recovering. First time it finally showed some good PE.

"Hand" anemones are the biggest risk to a reef tank. ;D

Glad to see it's coming around.

    Very nice hammer BTW.

Yes the hand anemone spreads like wildfire and has a sting more potent than anything else found on a reef. Luckily the hammer looks to be recovering from its brief encounter
