That particular problem (toilet flushing sound/effect) is from the return pumping a little too fast and the overflow is catching up. If you can reduce the return pumps GPH with a ball valve (most pumps came with one) fine tune the return pump. If you dial down too much you will see the overflow filling up too high, too little and you get the flushing.

thanks, I have tweeked the system, I dont have a ball head adjustment on the pump but i doubled the filter and got the suction noise to stop..now i just have the U tube sucking air like a mad man...my system is pretty much stable minus that and the fact that it pulses...so it sucks hard, then slows down and so on...Maybe just bite the bullet and get a new pump that is adjustable?

Look up that type of pump and see if their are accessories to go with it. Practically all pumps will have a ball valve that goes into the out-put before you put the hose on.

The pump I got is a quiet one 2200...and for whatever reason it doesnt have a ball valve that I can find anywhere...I will probably end up just dealing with the noise and get a new pump at some point... oh well thanks for your help, or if you have any other ideas...
