help with my tank

    i am a complete newbie in sw an i have a 75g tank would love for some good advise on setting it up looking to use a supperskimmer hob and t5 lighting and would love for a step by step on some adivise on rock like base rock an live rock then the cycling process an a fish list i would like to use couple months down the road would be a yellow tang, copperband butterfly, two clowns, along with a coral beauty and blue manderin just wondering if those would be ok thank you

    Welcome, you will get a lot of responses about the mandarin. They are picky eaters and usually only eat live food in the tank. Which you wont have for a long time. Just keep reading, Just keep reading and you will learn so much.

    thank you an could i do a lion in a reef tank an anyway to get around cleanup crew or some the lion fish wouldnt eat thank you

    lion fish eat fish. pred tank only.

    you can have a lion, as long as it cant fit anything else you have in its mouth. Most people like a shrimp in the clean up crew and thats a lions fav dish. If you are close to a lfs you are best to get your rock from there, unless you have a really small tank. And you are best to start off with very hardy fish with a new tank. Damsels work best. Then work your way up.

    I had all my rock in when mine was started. I would think it was part of the cycle, cause when you add the rock in later it will throw off your parameters. I have added rock in my tanks after my cycles but only a little at a time.
