High everybody! Have researched here many times but never posted. Had a 60gal now for 2 years and running well with no deaths. Want to set up a refugium now and am having a hard time grasping it all and finding a good plan for 30gal refugium. Tank not drilled. Would like a plan where i could isolate part of the refuge for quartine. You people amaze me at how much you understand this hobby(way of life). Thanks for all your help.

Welcome to 3reef! Glad to see you've found yourself to the right place. I don't know if you can have your quarantine tank (QT) in your refugium because it shares the same water as your display tank (DT) which would allow parasites to get into you DT, which is the point of a QT. You could section it off completely, but I wouldn't risk it being in the same tank because dividers can leak. GL and can't wait to see some pics.

    Welcome.

As Froc as already suggested, you can not have your quarantine tank share your refugium, or share anything else for that matter.

A quarantine tank by definition is isolated from the main tank (display tank). A disease-afflicted fish, or a coral with flatworm infestation is guaranteed NOT to infect your DT if it's in the quarantine tank. See the distinction?

A newly purchased bully can be banished to the refugium to prevent it from killing fish, but that's about it. A true quarantine tank is a separate entity from your DT.
