I forgot to do a top off yesterday and the heater exploted!! Apparently the water went down enough so that the heater was exposed. A one plastic melted!!!!!! ( the one that holds the heater to the glass) I'm so scared for my fish... What do I do? I already took the heater out. I am running carbon. Please help!!!

Calm down, your not the first one to bust a heater in the tank, If you already removed the heater, great start, is there any broken glass in the tank that needs to come out, and did anyone get electrocuted?

thankfully no one got hurt... i got home from school and checked my water levels.. i saw they were down and then i smelled like burning plastic.. i was like wtf? then i checked the heater and it was half out of the water and half in. the top part was melting the plastic and so i turned everything off. then i took the heater off as fast as i could. it gaved off some gas i think? ( could have been evaporating water)

Turn it all back on and check your water chemistry, I don't think you have anything to worry about....
