health rant

Never leave your health up to some one else, no matter how trained or how much it seems like they care (if they even do), it's just not going to come back and kick them in the rear like it will you. You only have one body, take care of it, so it can take care of you!

 

Yeah, I agree. That's why I refuse to go to doctors. ;D I will outlive all of them anyway. All of my friends that are doctors smoke more than a chimney. Some are alcoholics, the rest abuse prescription drugs (but most do all 3). No, I'm not joking.

 

Oh I know all about it. I have kidney failure from a company that dipped bombs in chromium in the middle of our little town right across the street form out middle school, in nor cal (company is remco, town is Willits, CA) I do very well because I have Aikido and other things to help me. I'm in pretty good shape for a dialysis patient, but I'm "terminally ill" and I can still run circles around any doctor I've meet! I'm not saying doctors can't give you some great info to help you figure things out, but always get a second opinion if not a third and forth! And sorry to all you people out there trying to help (I know not every one is burnt out), but don't get me started on nurses! One of them endangered 4 peoples lives today and just shrugged and did not even say anything when some one called them on it.... like I said I just need to rant for a bit!

 

OH no, I had no idea there was such a thing in such a wonderful town (Willits). My friend just bought a live/work space there. I used to head up to camp N Son all the time.

I don't think it's as bad as it was, but you'll still think twice as you walk out of safeway lol. It's very beautiful up there, you would never even know if no one said anything.

 

I try to make it a point to NEVER go see anybody who makes me feel worse before they make me feel better on a volantary basis.

 

I had an extreme case of mono a few years back where my throat was nearly completely swollen shut. I went to one of the best diagnoses and Infectious Disease doctors in Chicago (family hookup) the first thing he did was whip out his phone to take some pics of my throat saying "wow I've never seen it so bad". I should have given him a big ol kiss to express my gratitude. So yes, it is soooo hard to find a truly good doctor.

 

On the other hand I did have an outstanding rehab therapist for my knee.
