beleve it or not my tank was under warranty made a phone call and they shipped me 2 replacements for free.. Next time i am home i will get you the make and model.. Now the mods... Heres a link only for referance becase i havent taken any updated pics but at least i can talk you through it.

I looked up the tank hood system for a top view pic only... Right where the fans are i beleve yours is like mine and you can see through the grill and you can see the fans operating..What i did was remove the very center grill bar then skipped 2 both right and left of the center and removed those as well, i noticed it does suck more air in... Now the vents... Rite befor you get to the small feeding door you will see the Grate or grill design. on both left and right of the Aquapod logo on the hood.. what i did was take a razor blade and actualy cut the bottoms out.. and removing the small sliver of plastic i think its like 1/4in wide by 2-3 inch long on all of them... my tank would range from high 70's to low 80's now my tank is at 74deg F + or Minus a few deg... My next trip home i will take a few pics of it so you have a better idea what i did.. Or drop me a pm with ?'s will be hapy to help you out..

    Like Always..

    Good Luck....

The yellow polyps are spreading fast! So much so in fact, I was forced to re-aquascape this past weekend in order to save my large mushroom rock from stinging. I am not thrilled with the results. However, I can (and do) always fiddle with it.

The first shot is of the mushrooms down low. They were unimpressed with the new accommodations, so I did some major reorganization for their benefit.

Thought I would finally post a picture of the "gently modified portion of my tank"
The twin maxijet 900s, wrap around output and Hydor flow make for some nice and random flow.

Here are a few of my snails looking unproductive. Should I be concerned about them starving now that I have figured out how to keep algae at bay?

Thanks for the compliment. The AP was a great choice for a first tank. But if I had it to do over, I would build a custom tank instead. So much about the Aquapod needs to be changed before it can be considered "reef ready."

I finally bought a tripod today. HUGE difference! And since I was improving myself, I stopped acting like a man and read the instruction manual for the camera. The results were startling.

There is still room for improvement. However, a tripod and some light reading has made a lot of difference. Now I need to figure out how to turn off the stupid auto-focus.
