Flow at night

    I use the night mode function on my two Vortex MP40w's. It cuts the power by 50% for ten hours. I find the calmer water makes for more pleasant night viewing for me, and since I work shifts some weeks night viewing is the only viewing I get to do.

    However, half of my max flow is still a fair amount of flow, and I still have my return line creating a good deal of surface agitation.

    So, I'd say that as long as your tank is still getting some flow at night, and decent gas exchange at the surface, it's personal preference whether or not you use night mode.
