I know all flatworms seem to get a really bad rep everywhere but from what I read it seems not all are coral killers who overrun tanks.

However, I found my first flatworm today!!!! When the lights came on there was a very small tannish colored flatworm with the classic doubletail look on my glass. I removed and washed it down the drain and could not find another single one anywhere.

So if its on the glass does it mean it was prob an algae or copepod eating variety that would be harmless to corals and fish? I looks very carefully on my SPS and LPS and couldnt fine anything except for a few little copepods. Planing on getting a hoevens wrasse in the near future to help with any possible pest control in the tank from flatworms, bristleworms, pyramid snails etc.

I had a bunch of them several months ago, but now there are only a few here and there. I never did much to remove them. Mine were rusty in color with the split tail.

Yea I tried to get a picture but being so small and on the glass my point and shoot camera couldnt get a picture without being fuzzy. I want a wrasse just as a safety net for the future not to mention they are active and neat little guys!

Doesn't sound like the bad flatworms. I got some in my tank, they sound like yours - light tan, 2 tails, not 3. I was at first worried about them, did the FWE, and it knocked them back but didn't eliminate them. They've never been a problem since.

At one point there were quite a few on the glass, but since then I've only seen a few here and there.
