three days ago I bought a Flame Angel From a LPS, had it for two days and yesterday the poor thing died on me, My tank has been running for 2 1/2 months and O have 3 Green chromis that are doing great, and the Clown fish I bought the same day is doing great no other problems to speak of, I did find an emrald crab dead a couple days before I bought these fish, but everything else is doing great, green coraline algea is covering the rock, I would like to get another one of these fish but before I do, I think that a little research on it would be the best plan of action.
I think I didnt acclimate it properly, but Im not certain, thanks for you time I would appreciate some assistance,

Sorry to hear about your loss. I want to get a flame angel fish soooo bad when my tank is finished. Did the LFS allow you to return it for another one?

How did you acclimate it? I know some angelfish need good acclimation. Also, did it seem to be swimming, eating normally? It sounds kinda like it was just way too stressed from travel to and from the lfs.

Flame angels are difficult to keep alive! and will snuff it given the first opportunity. To begin with - they need to be in a very established system! At least 6 months old - but this is the same with all angels.
They are very sensitive to change and stress and bad water etc...
Really - do not get another until your tank has had at leat 6 months maturation as the same thing will only happen again!

I had one for two days and it died as well. This was a while ago, I was talking to the owner of the FS I got him from and he told me a lot of his customers go through a few before they get a one to live. So I decided not for me.
