The tank 29 is cycling well and I am starting to plan on fish (2-3 weeks from now based on water quality). I would like to take it slow adding 1-2 fish a month (total of 4) and would like advice based on sensitivity to new tank setup and what experience you all have had. Currently I am interested in:

    Flame Angel
    Pygmy Angel
    Maroon Clown
    Royal Gramma

The rest of the inhabitants will be clean up (snails) crew and (3) Shrimp - (1 Peppermint, 1 Cleaner Shrimp, 1 Blood Shrimp). I mostly want soft corals. So what order would all add the shrimp / fish in?

Thanks again for all your help!

the 2 angels may be trouble together , especially in your size tank. it could be ugly the way theyd go at each other. also theres a chance an angel might nip your corals too.

If it came down to 1 of the 2, I would go with the flame angel. Can they be nippy? Should I just not chance the Angels?

Not to shoot you down too terribly, but all three of those fish get too big for a 29 IMHO.

+1 to Pack. Angles (even the dwarf ones) like a lot of room to swim. Mine is all over the tank. I would say 40+ preferably 55 or over for angles. Just my opinion, I know some keep them in smaller tanks just fine.

Fixed the quote above. Regardless of tank size, 2 angels won't go together.

I think the OP would be fine with any of these fish (size wise) as long as it is the only fish in that tank. Most sites that I frequent will recommend 30 gal as being the minimum size tank for those fish. If you're set on multiple fish, I'd definitely look into smaller species.

The maroon clown is how I talked my wife into letting me have the tank in the first place :), I dont really have a choice on that fish. So with that in mind maybe just sticking with the Maroon and the Royal?

The maroon shouldn't be too bad and you could get the royal gamma too. But I need to agree with the angels, a 29 just isn't big enough for 1, yet along two.

brandon , that quote fixing is incorrect in my case and probably some others. i have a coral beauty and flame , they get along fine. 1st night was bad , but since lights on next day , alls been good. also they havent nipped at anything. so defnitely is the wrong word to use, thats why i said may be trouble. also i agree with pack, that the tank size is too small.
