i came home from school yesterday and my tank was covered in algae, i started a thread on that and someone suggested accounting for all my fish, i went up to the tank and started counting and realised one of the small tan damsels was missing, i tok all the live rock out of the tank, looked in the overflow the sump, everywhere. hes nowhere to be found, and im noticing my nitrates are going up a little so im pretty sure he died. hes been getting picked on quite a bit by my two tangs and i thought he was gonna kick the bucket soon. any thoughts?

Be thankful you have rid your tank of a damsel.

well hes not the one i was wishing to rid the tank of, haha. he and my maroon clown were the first fish in the tank. they are both very tiny and i feel kind of bad adding all these big fish that pick on them. what is your opinion? should i take the whole tank apart to search for a little dead damsel? what toll could a small fish like that take on my water quality?

If you have a cleanup crew, I'm sure they took care of it already.

If you find any remains, remove them, if not, just ride it out. Nature will take its course. Monitor ammonia, trites and trates to be sure they do not become toxic.

A little water change wouldn't hurt either.
