Hi looking into what fish i should aim to stock in my new tank, looking for
advice for ease of keeping and compatability.
Was thinking about 2 ocellaris clowns, a green chromis, a banggi cardanalfish, and blue regal tang???
Would these be suitable together or should i look for other fish??
thanks and please ignore the spelling of the fish!:-/

How many litres is your tank and what kind of filtration do you have on it?

Just on the surface, those choices should be ok. Chromis tend to do better if they are placed in an odd group. But how many fish and what types really depends on the size of your tank as inwall has suggested.

I have 2 blue-green chromis that have been in my 12gallon nano for about 2 years now. They are hardy fish and have been threw the mistakes I have made. You could also check out a firefish. It is an interesting fish and good for beginners. I have one in my 40 gal.

This fish all sound like they would do just fine together. I have all of those fish in my 90gal and they get along with the exception of the regal tang. I have a yellow tang and orange spotted rabbitfish instead. Also I have a PJ cardinal instead of a Banggai.

My only concern is whether or not your tank is large enough for a Regal tang, what size is it? They grow to be 12" long.

They would all be compatible. But the tank is well to small for the hippo tang to be in permanently. If you can get a baby one, and rotate them out as they grow, that would be fine.

    Thanks packleader!
I will probably leave out the tang and go for something like a blennie or firefish?

Those are both excellent fish. Now, I would avoid the sailfin and lawnmower type blennies. They rarely ever will accept prepared foods and a lot die of starvation, and in a tank as small as yours probably wouldn't stand a chance. But blennies like the Midas or Bi-color are loaded with personality and are fairly hardy.
Same goes with firefish. lots of personality and fairly easy to keep. The only thing to consider, is both blennies and firefish can be known jumpers. I lost my blenny that way.
