They don't call them that for nothing. I was cleaning my tank earlier, and accdentaly brushed up against one....felt like I was stung by a hornet.

For what it is worth, vinegar and ice help out a lot.

5 hours later...still burns...I am going to switch from Topical vingar to an oral Jack Daniels and Coke solution...I am confident this will help.

Yes I have also used this elixir for pain relief!! and I have found that after repeated oral doses of JD & Coke you will be feeling no pain very soon.;D :tongue4: :beer2:

also, to get the stingers out you can try putting mud letting it dry and then peeling it off, works with the spikey plants :)

Doing great today! A couple of cocktails, some topical vinegar and ammonia, and a little ice, and all is well. Hurt most of the night though. I would equate it more to a jellyfish sting, or even fire coral. Definitely on of my list of things to NOT do again. :) Thanks!

Did you pull the bristles out with a tweezer, assuming that there were bristles stuck in your skin?

Yup, used tweezers to get the ones I could see. Then I took some medical tape and used is to pull out the ones I could not see (thanks to www.e-medicine.com for that bit of advice).
