I read somewhere that it is healthy to have one day of fasting in the aquarium during the week. Does anyone else here do this? If so, does it depend on the fish you keep?

I feed my fish every other day all the time. They do well and my tank is doing well. I have various tangs, a scribbled rabbit, clowns, a pair of blue jaw triggers. My parems are much better doing it this way!

I do place romaine lettuce, nori and various seaweed sheets in every day sometimes 2x a day for the tangs and rabbit.

But I feed every tank every other day. I also have another tank with a red sea sailfin and a large golden puffer, another tank with a peacock mantis and another tank with a scorpion fish. All doing well!

2x a day every other day with AquaDine spirulina and krill, 1 or 2x a week I replace the flakes with some misis shrimp.

2-3 medium krill flakes and 2 larger spirulina flakes lasts about 2 minutes in the tank for 3 chromis and 2 ocellaris clowns, a peppermint shrimp, and a team of nassarius.

They seem eager to eat, but they don't fight over food.

I do it. It keeps my mantis shrimp from becoming fussy.

Yes, you cannot do this if you keep anthias, seahorses or any other fish that absolutely require daily feedings.
