I too am interested in this and how to ensure a sufficient gas exchange while still using a cover or partial cover to minimize evaporation

a lid will slow it down, but will also heat up your tank and will have an effect on gas exchange..

i wish mine was only 5 gal . my thaughts slowing evap rates will lead to gas exchange issues from what i can figure moset evaperation comes from serface agitation

on another note i have 90 gal DT with a 30 gal sump-fuge my evap rate is about 7 galons a week i skim a little on the weter side tea colored and i have about 1/2 gallon of skimate per week . with spring and summer comeing up im shure it will be close to 10 it was 8 last summer but i have a larger sump with 50X flow

I have about 69X turnonver in my DT now and temp i run about 76.5 even on a warm day so raising the temp a little wouldnt be a issue. But gas exchange would be i think also i thought the evap rate would be lower in the spring and summer cause its more humdid out? atleast where im stationed right now.
