Egg Crate for Chaeto?

    I have a 20g nano and 10g sump with an oversized ASM G-1 Skimmer and Gen-X 2400 Pump (Bulky stuff for the upgrade coming prob within a year).

    Needless to say the 10g sump doesn't have a lot of room, but could probably seperate 3-4g with eggcrate. I was wondering if I could put some cheato in there or something similar. I would like to have some of the benefits of a fuge even though I can't have a full on DSB fuge. I also have an old Whisper 30-60g HOB filter I could use.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!:)

    i made a refugium area for chaeto in my 10 gallon sump with eggcrate. works great i hung a light right over it.

    I would put mangroves in there bc the thing is that cheato likes to break up and clog pumps

    Do you have any pics by chance?

    How would I use those? Just find a way to suspend them in the water?

    lol, I was just showing off my $5 home depot reflector light over my fuge.
    In the fuge is a piece of eggcrate that I put my chateo over forcing the water to flow thru it befor exiting the fuge.
