I was just wondering if a dwarf lion fish would be alright in a 14g tank? Or would that just be way to small? It would be the only fish in the tank.

That's way too small. I wouldn't put any lion fish into a tank smaller than a 40, and even that would be pushing it. You would have to upgrade or trade it in when it grows too.

What are some very unique looking fish that would be good in a tank like this?

if you are willing to do lots of water changes and export the nutrients (these are messy eaters) I don't see a problem with this fish in this tank. they stay small and don't move much at all unless they are eating. They don't require a lot of space. Especially for a fish this size. I'm gonna get blasted for this post but I say go for it.

Have one in my 30 and hes doing great. Had to ween him of of ghost shrimp because they were getting pricey...$1 a piece. He wouldnt eat live rosys or another other type of live or frozen food, even krill. The trick is to get a feeding stick. Its a clear skewer which is about a foot long. Soak a piece of krill on it and wiggle it around in front of him...he'll go crazy. He even snps at my clown fish when he sees it sgoing for the krill. You can also try shrimp scallops or anything else that will stay on the feeding stick. They sell them at lfs for $10 or more but got mine on E-bay for about $5.

Not sure how he'll do in your tank but the main thing people worry about is the feeding. Hope this helps.

Keep in mind that dwarf lionfish can get up to 7" long.

Are you serious? $1 a piece. I thought pet stores were robbery at 25 cents. I get them 10 cents at my lfs. I would hate to have to keep up on water with that lion in such a small tank. 14g is almost cruelty. A little bigger would make it easier on you. I keep feeder fish in a 10g.
