    Ok I am using tech cb to raise my calcium and alk well the all is good but the calcium still needs to come up do you have to put equals parts in I have been told you can just use the calcium part till its up and then dose.as.needed. Is this true. Thanks

    Yes you can, just keep track of your alkalinity level and magnesium. Keep your mag around 1350 to keep your alkalinity and calcium more steady.

    I'd say Kalkwasser is the easiest and most economical method.For my 180g w/ 55g sump, I put about half a bottle cap full in my sump once in the morning and once at night and I've got good results with calcium levels round 450ppm and good coral growth. If you try this, get a Ca test kit.

    I would stop dosing Ca and Alk immediately then.

    Until you know your Mg is on par you don't really know what you're doing with the Ca/Alk concentrations.
