..just remembered this...I have been meaning to post it for some time, but I just changed my carbon..and it got me to thinking about it...DON'T over-tighten your canister...this includes the RO/DI unit as well..anything for that matter...but when I first got my RO/DI unit, I used the wrench to tighten it :(..I soon realized, when they started leaking, that they should only require a firm hand tighten...use the wrench to break it loose...because it will be required that tool after it sits for a time.
So, that's all...just a word from someone who learned the hard way...the tool is to remove it... lol ;D

It would be hard to do that with bulkheads, but you certainly can break the bulkhead nut though. Been there done that.

Always good to hear wise words from reefers who've been at this longer. Rather learn from the mistakes of others than hear about it and make the same mistake myself.

forgot I posted this...yes, it seems so trivial..but its a PITA if you bugger up the threads...need to Teflon tape it(FYI) in case any of you DO have one that leaks...a little Teflon tape...but thats also a PITA...so just tighten by hand and use the wrench to remove. : )
    Peace..8)

You should never need teflon on a RO/DI canister. They have O-ring seals so a little silicone grease on the O-ring and hand tight should do the trick.
