(copy of post today in say hello board)Hi all this is my first go a saltwater tank. it was setup on jan 15th 2009. My tank is a custom built oak stand and canopy housing a 130 drilled aquarium. I have 150lbs of live rock. I am currently using a PM redline series 150 and a Energy savers unlimited Coralife Super Skimmer 250. I have 2 ViaAqua 4900 aqua pumps (1300gph each) for returning water from my sumps. There are two hydor koralia 4 circulation pumps for extra water movement. For lighting i currently have two 48 inch HO T5's (german powerchrome bulbs)in a canopy retrofit kit (1 actinics and one 10000k), a bank of three 24inch HO T5's(all actinics powerchrome) and a galaxy dual 250w electronic pulse start ballast hooked up to two 250w 20,000k radium bulbs. I have two aqualight cooling fan kits housed in the walls of the canopy togther moving air at 140 cfm. i have just put the tank together and only have a couple of pieces of coral, frogspawn, hammers, a leather, torch coral, open brain, moon coral, finger wave, kenya tree, and zoo polyps. The tank also has a hawaiina naso tang, coral beauty, flame angel, diamond goby, cleaner shrimp, clownfish, lots of snails and crabs, a hawaiian pink-tip anemone and a red haitian anemone. latest test this morning put my water parameters at ammonia=0 nitrites-0 nitrates=0 phosphates=0 ph=8.2 calcium=420 kh=10dgrs.will be posting video and pics soon. will love to hear feedback and suggestions from any of you. heres two youtube video links. 1 of my tank (YouTube - davids 2month old reef tank) and 1 of my lights starting up(YouTube - medtal halide startup mpeg2video).

    The demensions are 18x72x23= 29808 in3 / 231 = 129.03 gallons in main tank. The sump contains 40 gallons.
For anyone wanting to calculate there exact water volume the formula is (Length x Width x Height) / 231. Of course this doesnt account for rock, sand , and your inhabitants.
