    What amazes me is that that's how these fish survive. The bigger predators cant decide which way to go with the smaller schools constantly switching direction.

    Also, what must that sound like under water?

    Oh it works in their favor confusing the larger predators. The whale though he just opens mouth and gulps.

    When I am diving and I see a larger school of fish moving quickly I know something big is right behind it, usually barracuda, squid and shark or big tuna.
