Between my tomato clownfish stirring up the sand with his tail, and my snowflake eel moving around, I always have small particles floating in my tank. My water is clear as can be besides this. Any suggestions on possibly changing substrate, or anything to reduce the particles? I'm sure it's not really hurting anything, just doesn't look all that great.

Some people have told people with gobies to buy a HOB filter, it will help suck up the particles a little better..But is this a reef? Or a fowlr?

Sorry I forgot to mention that part. It's a FOWLR. I also have a small HOB filter in my sump. I thought that may help, but doesn't seem to be doing much. I've wondered if that has something to do with my power head placement and the particles not reaching the overflow. So I've adjusted both powerheads, but still no luck.

I jut got 90 lb of sugar fine dry aragonite for my 75g. I'm regretting it. They are unopened still, but the store I got it from is 2 hours away. :(

I wonder if they would let me return it and get some coarser sand? Maybe pink fiji reef sand?

Do you think that if I went with a really coarse sand it would be safe for my eel to burrow in. Once he gets his spot built, he really doesn't dig in it anymore. Thinking something like this:

Maybe if the clown stirred this up, it would settle better. Also, would I have to remove all my sand, or could I remove some of it, and cover with this?

I tried everything imaginable to get my Maroon clown from digging. Fish do not train well. I finally had to remove him. Could not take it. All Clowns are notorious for this. Some may not do it, but every type can and most do. I like Clowns, but not that much. I had course sand. No anemome though.
