    couple of questions:

i put a new clownfish in my tank on 6/17/09...everything seems fine except...the following...

i have a powerhead in there and it seems like the clown gets stuck in current and swims but never goes anywhere...im worried he's going to have a heart attack..lol...its like he is body surfing in it..when he could go else where in the tank with less flow....

secondly...last night after the lights went off...and the lunar led's came on...he looked pretty relaxed....he was vertical...nose towards the bottom of tank...wierd...is this behavior normal...he has not messed with my anenome at all...grrr...i also turned my powerhead off last night so he doesn't have a coronary...i might put my powerhead on a timer...

    look at pic attached...

    thanks
    Wade

It all normal Clown behavior. The like to swim in the current, and will sleep in some pretty weird spots, upside down etc..

    Rphman,

Don't worry, I have two FP Clowns who do the same weird stuff when they sleep... upside down, nose-dive, sideways- you name it they've done it (and it worried me too until I found out it was normal). As far as the current "swimming" don't worry so long as he's choosing to do it- he's probably picked out that area to "host" and will always be active in that area of the tank.

Clownfish are strange dont worry about him. As long as he eats he will be fine. Mine occasionally swims straight towards a powerhead just for fun and when hes done going nowhere he goes around the flow area. And my clownfish also likes to host the magnet and when he does he also usually relaxes in a vertical position with his face towards the bottom. Thats just what they do. Strange but tough little fish

I wish mine would take to my cave, stupid things claimed my middle powerhead and refuse to move for me but im getting them a frogspawn here tomorrow. And to the main post mine and like everyone elses did the same thing just wait till they get really use to the tank itll be like touch and go with the powerhead they swim fast to get close to it then banzai they fly aroudn the tank on the current. O ya are they eating well when you feed them?

You may never get the clowns away from the powerhead unless you move the powerhead. I have a frogspawn and my clown never goes anywhere near it.
