It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Typically clowns are around age 2 before they spawn.

Usually before you see a spawn the male ( smaller one) will aggressively clean an area and the females abdomen will appear swollen.

The dynamics of clown fish relations are many, they will go through stages of showing more submission and more aggression. One day they will fight non stop and the next day swim side by side. They do a lot of communicating in subtle ways.

A pair is only consider " A mated pair" after a spawn.

    TMI I know.......

If you have other fish in the tank, most likely once they hatch, the other fish will eat them :(,

My couzin is raising a fry now, you can see their thread on there.

It takes some work from what i have read raising them, you will need a separate tank for them if you want to breed em.

They don't have to be a mated pair to lay eggs. My male & female are 6 months a part.. Granted it took her 4 1/2 years to lay eggs, but she does so every 2 - 3 weeks...

Here are mine laying eggs on April 11th, 2011.. The light orange dots are clown eggs. The anemone in the middle is about 14" round & the one on the left was a piece that split off of it a few years ago..
