So I came home this morning after work and did my routine morning check on my tank to find that Carol (shrimp) decided to molt last night.;D I was all excited that it finally happened and I told hubby he needs to check this out! He comes over, looks at it for a second and says "OMG GROSS take it out!!! WTHeck is it???? What's a molt...?" You have to understand this came from a guy who has 3 degrees, got liscenced in a nasty hard program yesterday and basically knows it all. And all I did was that---------> Gotta love him;D (He does think Carol is wicked cool though.)

Wait until the shrimp decides to not eat the molt.....and you have to go in and get it! I just had to do that yesterday in my nano when one of my fireshrimp molted. It is really nice and slimy, esp when you wait a couple days! (I couldnt stand to look at it anymore!)

it will be fine, if she doesnt eat it then it will just dissolve or the cleanup crew. ive had tons of shrimp, too many to count and they usually eat it or it just dissapears by the nest day.

I suspect she will be hidden for a day or so to let her new exoskeleton to harden then hopefully she does. It doesn't bother me but hubby thinks its nasty gross. He told me to take it out but I had to remind him whose tank this was ;) :p

i normally do not take the skeleton out either, however this tank is in my bedroom and right in front of my eyesight.... so after a few days of seeing this float in the tank I had to get rid of it!

Oh geeze LOL This one is on the sand bed mostly behind a rock. Its in my living room so I can only imagine what people will say when they come over tomorrow. Maybe I should freak them out "OMG NOOOO my poor shrimp was eaten from the inside out. WHYY OH WHYY." ;D
