I have not had that skimmer, but it looks very similar to an Azoo Trimax skimmer I had some experience with (not positive experience with)

what sized tank do you have?
    whats in there at present?

spending 40 bucks now, that if your lucky you will get 10 bucks back for when you do decide to upgrade may not be in your best interests

if its a new tank, with a low bioload, then you may not really need the skimmer now. I would consider saving up for a bit longer and getting the skimmer you want for the tank

I agree with Steve.. which almost always happens. You can run without a skimmer during your cycle. Save up and get a decent one when you can afford it.

I have had good results with an eshopps skimmer. If you are putting it in a sump, go with an in sump model; no point sacrificing performance by going with a HOB.

I agree, you really don't need a skimmer this early in your tank. HYou should save up.
