I have a new 55 gallon reef tank (has had water in it 3 weeks). Yesterday i added two chromis and 2 camel shrimp. the camel shrimp have not come out of hiding. i have a frozen variety pack that the lfs said they were feeding their inverts. is it normal for me to not see my shrimp yet? when and how often do u recommend feeeding them? i feed my chromis dried kelp flakes, and add shrimp pellets for my cuc.
    thank you so much

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Very common for shrimps to hide while acclimating. It can take several days for them to come out.

You can try looking for them at night with a flash light if you are worried.

    They maybe molting as well.

It is normal for all types of shrimp to hide when they are first introduced and many will hide during the day as well.

I don't recommend purposely feeding the clean up crew. They are in there to clean and they clean by eating left over food, algae, etc. and if you feed them that is less cleaning they will do.

Also camel shrimp are not reef safe so if you have corals keep an eye on them. I would feed the camel shrimps as often as you feed the fish. They will most likely come out and grab any fish food that floats down past the fish.

    +1 on above posts

it can take up to a few weeks in some cases before they get really confident and show up more
