I think you misunderstood my post.
It is a skimmer pump. The turbine impeller is used to power a venturi styled skimmer. I still do not see anything about max head or flow rates at head. It has a 9 foot jet measurement, but that is completely different from head ;)

Strickly for comparison, BRS runs their reactor off maxi jet 900s and 1200 for duals. A 1200 is only 300 gph. 300 gph can run both. They are run inline and throttled to run the GFO right.

It looks like a decent pump, but I have yet to see one used for a return pump.

3000lph= like 792 gph. and it uses 65watts. But for comparison a quiet one 3000 uses like 40 watts to make 780 gph.
    A mag 7 uses 60 watts to make 700gph, and a mag 9.5 uses 93watts to do 950 gph.

Since watts = heat directly, the octopus pump will actually heat your water more than a mag7, but less than a mag9. A Q) 3000 will do more gph than a mag7, with less watts, and about the same gph as the octopus, with about 20 less watts as well.

Fosters and smith had the QO3000 for like 42 dollars a little while back. edit.. 45 dollars still on sale now.

hmm maybe I will go with a quiet one, just wanted to give the octo a shot since ive been using the skimmer non stop and its still performing great. Someones gotta start trying this new stuff and give it a walk in the park because if it is a great pump for people on a budget then I want to pass it on. Ill just buy 1 of the octos and 1 of the quiet ones as back up and give it a through testing and report my results back.
