i just got this used bubble magus 150, would of gotten new but everything is backordered.....well, mine dont have the air venturi thing....long story short, i went to lowe's and got a 1'' threaded pipe, put a 1/4'' nipple on it for the air line and screwed it on the water inlet of the pump....i saw some pics on line and thought it would work like that, but saw a couple of places calling that piece a ''valve''. so will my set up work correctly? i emailed nuocean and they do not stock it. my skimmer seems to work ok, but i wouldnt know if something is off or not this is my first real skimmer......all help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

Well, the thing is, is that the blue piece is a venturi, so it actually cones in a bit. The air line intake is positioned at the exact spot that this cone ends. If my skimmer wasn't such a PITA to remove from my sump i'd take a pic for you so you could see what I'm talking about.

look on the internet for DIY venturi and toss one of those onto it if you're looking to replicate. But, if how you currently have it is pulling air and bubbling the chamber, I wouldn't worry about it.
