Hi all, My metal halide light melted my center brace, so I decided to cut it and replace it with plexiglass securing it to two inch tabs. It didn't work to well. So after breaking my brace I've applied first gorilla glue, sanded it down, now I've applied JB weld (common two part household waterproof adhesive) and let it cure for 48hours. I'm then going to sand it down a little and then glue and screw in the plexy glass like I originally intended. Do you all think the tab that I fixed will hold and be a suitable mounting point for my plexy brace? The tank is a 46gallon bow front saltwater reef tank. Thanks.

Ihave no idea if it will work, but it is a creative solution. Good luck.

I would be worried about that brace. If he tank is common sized you can get a replacement plastic cap with center brace. The it only requires silicone to install that.

I honestly never liked the brace to begin with, but was too scared to mess with it. When it broke I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to put plexiglass to get rid of the ugly plastic shadow. I've moved that piece around and it seems like it's solidly on there. Any other opinions.

yeh, the all-seas bowfront braces are junk. I've had a couple break on me, Ive just replaced the whole aquarium with aquariums that use a glass center brace
