Blue Planet

oh man am i so excited!!!!!!!!!! The blue plenet episode of the coral reef is coming on in 20 minutes! WHOS IS READY FOR SOME RECOGNITION OF EARTHS MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!!!!!!! well.....i am! remember its at 8 pm today on discovery. it has the best footage i have ever seen. so tune in!

Was great!

I especially liked the photography of the really deep water fish. Talk about things looking like something from outer space or your worst nightmares

Would be quite a feat if anyone could ever duplicate that environment so you could see them up close.

Of course, you couldn't let little kids see them, or they would not sleep for months. : - (I might not either! )

 

yeah, "the deep" is probably my favorite... i've always had a fascination with "alien" fish... most particularly the gulping eel that they showed. Another awesome part that i liked is the "sub-lake" where the water was so heavy with salt that it acted as a solid surface...

 

O man, I just watched the part where they show the sps growing over months....that is amazing!

 

Man!!! reading this thread is more salt in the wound. I tivo'd that late last night thinking it's cool to pass out cuz i'll just catch it tommorow and it didnt even record it. serious blower

 

i am pretty sure they re-air the episodes on wednesday at 7cst on animal planet. and is this series in anyway different than the last blue planet they ran last year.

 

I don't know anything about blue planet it's all new to me.

 

I know there is a cool dvd out there about reef life and old johnny Depp is the narrator. Anybody seen it?

 

i saw like 10 minutes of it at frys once but here it is
