do i have to feed it. or can it survive on its own. there used to be algae on the glass, but the blenny already ate it all.
also one of my live rocks is going this green algae looking thing. the snails and the blenny doesn't eat it, so i took some out...and it feels plastic-y. what should i do?

It's a good idea to make sure your fish eat prepared foods. And/or you have the means to feed it naturally within your own tank. However, I have never seen my blenny accept prepared foods.

My lawnmower blenny took a while before it ate any prepared foods, I thought he was going to die he looked so thin, but he finally started to conistenly eat after a month.

I soaked seaweed in garlic extreme and that seemed to entice him to attack the seaweed.

He also eats Ocean Nutrition formual two flakes, prime reef flakes and formual one marine pellet, I also added garlic extreme with these, now I just feed the flakes no garlic needed. He seems to be nice and fat.

See him also eat a little bit of mysis, and brine shrimp when i feed the tank that.

Tell us about your tank.....size, what you have in it, what are your parameters. It sounds like you have just started off and not sure of what you should be doing. Not trying to be mean just trying to get the facts and help you!

I just got a eyelash blenny and he eats anything and everything---he is a lot like a little pig. I also use garlic extreme, it seems to get them interested in new foods.

I had a large lawnmower that would only eat brown algae. He wouldn't eat other food. He died. I got another smaller one and he eats about everything. He likes flakes and algae chips. I also put seaweed on a rock that he likes. Sometimes older fish can't adjust to a tank that doesn't have the food they grew up on.. not sure if that was my case or not.
