I am trying to help a friend with a problem. He has a 46g reef with halide lights and his live rock has started to bleach. The coralline algae has been spreading normal for months and was looking good but then about a week ago it started to recede leaving bright white patches. I know halides can bleach after changing bulbs but he hasn’t changed anything. The coral are opening even better than average and the water is testing great. Any ideas?

I will try to get him to send me a pic.

If there isn't enough calcium it can effect the coraline.
