Blastomussa coral

I bought this coral a few months ago. I got it with one polyp, now has multiplied to ten polyps. Recently one polyp started to 'bubble up'. Please see attached picture.

keep track of it. It may have just eaten a lot of food and is blown up to help it finish the meal.

I have no idea why this happens. One person had chronic elevated magnesium levels the other had chronic low magnesium.

 

It's like this all the time. I probably noticed it a couple months ago. I've kept an eye on it. I thought at first it was possibly budding another polyp?

As far as water, parameters are in check, tanks been running for ten months.

I am being told from a local reefer that it is too much light. Thoughts?

 

Blastos don't like very much light. many reefers have success of keeping them on vertical reef walls.

 

So today I moved the coral to the sand. I should know in few days if light was the issue.
