Best substrate cleaner?

    Hi,

    I have a 21 gal nano with the following cuc;

    5 turbo snails
    8 hermits
    2 pepper mint shrimp

    In your opinion what is the best creature to keep the sand bed nice and clean!??

    Nassarius snails don't clean the sand but they do keep it turned over
    Your tank is too small for a cucumber

    Hi,

    I would like the conch but being in the uk they are not that easy to find.... Unless anyone knows where to get one!

    I would also say that a diamond goby may be a lil big for a 21g, but that's just me.

    A conch will get too big for your system and starve quickly.
    Nassarius snails would be your best choice.

    I have a sleeper head or golden head goby that keeps my sand nice and white but they are messy eaters used to use my GSP as a dumpster. Also a sand sifting star that only has 4 legs right now

    Thanks all, I can get hold of Orange Spotted Butterscotch Nassarius Snails, are these slightly larger?

    Those are what i call the Babylon snails ;p, and yes, they're a bit larger than nassarius snails

    Fighter as well as almost all other conches will scavenge food, they wont starve in a small aquarium
