Awesome deal/addition today!

so i was browsing craigslist and came across an ad for a guy that was moving and selling off everything.

i swiftly went down there and picked up:

15 lbs. established Figi rock
Koralia nano
API master test kit (only used a few times)
and a True Perc Clown
aprox $180 value


all for.. drum roll..... 70 bucks!!;D

my clown and the new one seem to be all over eachother i have no idea of either there sex. could this be a possible pair?

Nice score, I would suggest not stacking the rock so high, it may fall and IMO isn't too aesthetically pleasing. But the clowns look great.

 

Yea I agree I didn't have much time to aquascape it.. Just wanted to get it all in there with the time I had

 

ok so this morning i had some time to myself and aquascaped it the way i wanted it.

Like the new aqua scape good job! Even better score. From what I have read they are hermaphrodites (I think that's correct) and if you have two one becomes dominate and BIGGER pretty noticeably bigger at least compared to the other one clown the bigger is your female the little guy is your male. Please correct me if I am wrong anyone.

 

I understand the way you wrote it out but another told me they fight and the winner is the more dominant female and when she is gone the other becomes the female.

 

I think thats pretty close to being correct,i do know that 2 of the same sex clowns in a closed eviroment(your tank)one will change there sex to mate up with the other(after a period of time)and providing they are of the same species.But i could be wrong also.

 

yea ive heard that is how it works in the ocean, in a bigger group than just two anyway, the female the biggest the next largest is the male and the rest continue to be asexual, if the male or female gets lost or dies the next biggest follows suite..

just wasnt sure if that was the case in a tank environment and only being two of them.
