Those advantages sound like all the other putties too. I had sps, lps and clams and never had a problem and my skimmer never acted up. Unless you're planning on using pounds of it you'll be fine.

I heard from several people that JB Water Weld won't cause skimmer to go crazy unless you decide to use the entire stick at one shot? I plan to use a little at a time with a couple of pieces at first, then later doing more at another date.

I also heard it won't harm your tank so I'm assuming it won't affect PH to swing but then I heard from one person it can cause an algae bloom?

I've had the sticks in the cabinet for almost a month because I want to double check before I do anything... Like I mentioned in earlier post that I heard its safe and several members here have used it with no affect.

    Zesty,
Have you used EPO putty in the past?

No, but a lot of local members have. The link I posted was from a local member, he liked it so much that he started selling it. I've seen multiple vendors selling the same putty at frag swaps as well.

I wish I had some experience using it, but not yet! haha! Hopefully someone else can chime in on your concerns. The biggest thing I saw that made me go for it, was the skimmer not going crazy. But you already have some sticks purchased. I'm going to go out on limb and say if you already know the possible reactions, you can be ready for them.

I'm going to give the JB Water Weld a shot next week when I'm on vacation from work.. This way I can take my time figuring out a nice aquascape with the rocks I already have.

I have some dry rocks in garage that I might mess with and add but I'm going to make sure those are completely cleaned out first before I do anything. My main focus is the rocks that already in the tank!
