    Well the reef angel is way cheaper than the apex and it comes with ATO capabilities right out of the box, ph probe, and temp probe. And seems like its more customizable

    I think there are a couple probes Neptune offers you can't get. I know Reef Angel had an OPR probe for a while but due to expense he discontinued it for a while. Also is true for a conductivity/salinity probe. I think people can actually get another type of probe and program controls for it but I'm not sure.

    Other than that there isn't a whole lot of differences in capabilities.

    any of these aquarium controller monitor alkalinity? or calcium?

    i believe you can get add-on probes for that.
