Black diamond is actually a fine carbon. Did you rinse it before you put it in? Are you running too much waterflow through it causing it to grind up?

As I stated in my post - "I followed the instructions for preparing the carbon using a 300 Micron filter media bag and rinsing the carbon until the water was clean and one final soak/wash in RO/DI water." The bag was then placed in the chamber next to the skimmer where the water overflows from the skimmer. This is the same place where I had the Chemi-Pure.

If the water flow through it caused it go grind up, then I can't use it in my tank. The only other flow that is slower is through the refugium. I'm only pushing something less than 790 GPH through the whole system.

I have used Black Diamond for years and never had any problems with it. You can put something over the bag to diffuse the water flow if it's too hard.

Perhaps I should have said carbon rather than black diamond carbon. I'm not knocking black diamond - just stating what happened to me when I changed to using carbon.
