We have an anemone hermit crab in our tank, and we noticed this little guy crawling around on it!
My husband thinks its a baby hermit crab.
I just want to be sure its not harmful to the tank, whatever it may be.

    Thanks for your help!

Yea, that's exactly what it looks like to me too! Thanks for the link :)
I think he's in a safe place too, nesting between the anemones on the crab's shell. No fish will dare try to eat him!

I did some reading and found that sometimes they can be seen after adding new live rock or sand, but we have not added anything new to the tank for a few months now. Any idea where he might have come from? What are the chances that we'll see more of them?

You will surely see others. The can come in on algae, frags, corals and other inverts. Best seen at night when the lights are off or early in the am right after the lights go on.

The fish or inverts may find them to be a good snack keeping the amphipods population in check.
