Looks like a great start. Are the rocks resting on the sand bed or do you have them buried?

The rock is some old rock from a guy that broke down an old tank and let it all dry out, sold it to another guy, then I got about half of what he had. I let it sit in ro for about 8 months now with water changes. i just pushed them down into the sand some, they packed in real nice and they are locked together.. I had everything drilled and tie wrapped just how I wanted it at first, but I couldnt get it in there so I cut everything apart.

You really want the rock to be on the glass, even if its tight now over time the sand will be undermined by your shifters and rocks have been known to tumble and shatter the tank. Its a matter of "better safe than sorry"

Your set up looks real nice – I look forward to following the progress, good luck !

Edit: Also, not to nitpick too much….but, is the left side of the tank visible? That is, will you be cleaning the glass on that side – it appears from the photo that your rock may be too close to the glass so get a mag-cleaner between them. Hard to tell from the photo’s.
