Aiptasia+ lemon juice injection??

Hey guys I injected some of my aiptasia with lemon juice on hopes of killing em off, does any one know how long it will take them Rosie after doing this and what's my next step do I try and vacume them off do an immediate WC? What should I be expecting guys? any input is greatly appreciated!!

 

i did the same for my tank and it seemed to look like the thing melted... i tried to vacume it but they just wouldnt come off so i bought a pepermint shrimp and he ate the remains. watch using lemon juice it will affect your ph levels so keep an eye on that

 

you can also try to suck out the remains with a turkey baster. A peppermint shrimp would also work with clean up, or at least it did for me. for me with the injection of lemon juice, the aiptasia melted away to nothing, right on the spot.

 

I make my own Kalk paste with 100% deadly results.

 

thanks guys yeah I injected em and they shrunk down like super quick!! but there still around today so i wasnt sure if they were going to slowly die off, however one of em is completely gone so im guessing i wasted him i guess ill go grab some peppermints

 

Where can i get this stuff? or the strongest stuff? I heard joe juice?

make your own. I have posted the recipe here several times. it is SUPER cheap and easy.

take a tbsp of pickling lime and add to it enought RO water to make a paste like toothpaste. it should look glossy. then add in a 1/2tsp of red pepper and a few drops of Texas pete Hot sauce. if it is too runny add some more lime.

then micorwave it for 20 seconds or so till bubbly hot. add a bit mroe water if necessary and then spoon it into a medicine syringe. put a littel drop in their mouth and they will melt away in an hour never to come back.

when I was battling a few in my tank recently, I kept a loaded syringe in a vacuum sealed bag so i could break it out whenever I spotted one.

 

I have three- over a year now, any new ones that pop up I kill- with my tweezers- I have used lemon juice (works pretty good) but the apstasia really doesnt bother me- as I only have three or four, and actually, they are part of a true reef.

 

Just toss in a couple of Clibanarius digueti hermit crabs. They love eating aiptasia.
