Wow! I've never heard of aipstasia being that bad!

I've never received a sting from one, but heard it feels like a mild electrical shock. The mojanos are supposed to be more painful.

I wonder if he happened to be allergic or something?

Could also be zoas. If he got cut and zoa toxins got into the cut it might be the cause for this. Zoas and pallys have the potential to be highly toxic

Get the hell out, are you serious? I used to wear nitrile gloves, but one day I noticed a bristle worm inside my glove and didn't feel no pain so I stopped wearing gloves. I have touched zoas, aiptasia, and many other nems (some just feel sticky when they sting you) and never felt more then the tinyest of a tingle. Now mind you I was stung many times when I was young by Port. man-o-war when i was growing up in Hawaii. Dunno guess I have a built up tollerance now. BUT given this new knowledge I guess I shouldn't tell my friends 'Its ok to touch them, I do.'
