Hello!! I have just taken down my 150 gal fresh water Cichlid tank that I enjoyed for a long time. I am in the process or collecting everything nessicary to convert the tank to a nice reef tank. I am thinking of doing soft corals. Other than taking my time to do it right, i really am clueless. Any advice for reading material, equipment or anything else would be a huge help!!

I started researching about this time last year and purchased the tank in early December. I learned the most by reading up on things here and using google. Youtube videos can also help a ton when you are having trouble visualizing something. I ended up going with an all in one system due to space constraints, but you will have no problem getting help setting up your system from the people here.

Hello, and welcome to the right place for alot of starter questions. You will find an immense amount of knowledge here. I would say best way to tackle it is breeze down thru the sections, most have stickies made specifically for the people newer to the hobby. Read good into the threads on how to cycle a tank, and how the cycle works definitely a well needed starting point.

Everything that has already been said above. I also like the three Julian Sprung books Corals, Invertibrates, and Algea. These three books will give you a mass amount of knowledge and photos.
